Missions

Mission trips are key to developing evangelism opportunities throughout the world. The mission trips that IHH supports are conducted through local churches so that all of the work done visible to the community is seen as an extension of the local church.

Through IHH-sponsored missions trips, unreached Kids on Mission Trippeople have the opportunity to hear the gospel and the physical needs of families and children are taken care of. In addition, relationships with our church partners are strengthened and the local believers are encouraged as team members work with them side by side, assisting with projects such as church construction, furnishing & equipping new churches, church planting, and village evangelism.

Go On A Mission Trip

Fresh Water

The availability of clean drinking water continues to be one of the most serious physical needs for many in remote areas of the world, including Ghana.

Since it began IHH has provided funds toward the construction of two new wells. IHH is also beginning a new pipeline project in Sankpem, Ghana.

When IHH sponsors the digging of a water well or the construction of a pipeline, the coordination is done with in-country resources, which also helps to strengthen the local economy by providing jobs.

Most importantly, when people receive fresh water in their community, they see benefit of the well coming from the local church. Usually residing in remote areas with little chance of hearing the gospel, villagers will come to the dedication, see God's people at work, and hear the good news of Jesus Christ. They have the opportunity to understand not only the physical benefit of clean water, but also the spiritual need to draw from the river of life, which comes from God through Christ's sacrifice for all people on the cross.

The average cost of digging a new water well or constructing a new pipeline is $5,000 - $20,000. IHH continues to seek support for this crucial program.

Healthcare

Healthcare in GhanaIn many parts of Ghana, healthcare is available, but people must travel for long distances to receive it. The government of Ghana has a program called the National Healthcare Insurance Scheme (NHIS) to register its citizens for healthcare. The cost is $10 per adult and $1 for each child in a family.

IHH began working in the Northern region of Ghana to register people for the NHIS-provided healthcare. In 2008, 275 members of the Dagomba tribe from the remote mud-hut village of Kushibo were registered through funds provided by donors in the U.S.A.

In June 2009, team members will once again partner with officials from NHIS to enroll 300 villagers from nearby Sankpem village. Also, an emphasis will be placed on enrolling orphans and widows from Sankpem and other neighboring villages.

IHH team members partner with the local church in these areas to connect with the Ghanian people and provide a connection to the church and the opportunity to hear the gospel of Christ. Through the church, IHH team members are reaching out and ministering to the people of Ghana.

Widow Care

Widow CareIHH offers the opportunity to sponsor a widow and her family to help provide basic necessities such as food, nutrition and education.

It is through sponsorship that we show Christ’s love to the widows and their children.

The widows identified for the program reside in mud-hut villages in the Northern Region of Ghana, West Africa.
