Ethiopia Child Sponsorship Program Launched!

Just on the outskirts of Addis Ababa in Ethiopia is the village of Bole Bulbula. Here, the local church has opened two one-room schoolhouses so that the village children can receive an education. They are too poor and live too far away to go to school in the city.

These children do not get enough to eat. Most of the adults do not have any means of income. Their schools do not have books or supplies.

You can help by sponsoring a child. Your sponsorship will provide nutrition, education and healthcare for the child. Your sponsorship will also enable the parents of the children to develop skills and trades needed to improve their situation and become self-sustaining.

When you register to become a child sponsor, you can choose which child you will sponsor. You will receive quarterly updates on your sponsored child. You are even able to visit the child on a mission trip.

Vocational Training in Ethiopia

The IHH Ethiopia team has just completed a series of vocational training sessions in Bole Bulbula, Ethiopia. The purpose for the training is to teach the families in the village skills and trades so that they can earn enough wage to sustain their families.

The training was funded through a special contribution the Education and Nutrition program. The next phase of the program is to acquire raw materials and equipment needed to begin applying their skills and selling items like soap, essential oils, and chalk.

Community Outreach at Lafto Drop-in Center

The Lafto drop-in center in Ethiopia is up and running. After getting the children settled in the new classroom environment,

Peter and the Lafto teachers hosted the childrens' families and members of the local civil government for a time of fellowship.

They celebrated handing out donations to the children, meals, music, and Bible discussions.
